By Football Italian staffMichael Wayne’s agent has accused Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho of “a little bit of a mess” after the Red Devils failed to sign Juventus star Pogba, but the Old Trafford outfit are yet to respond.
The 24-year-old has already been sold to Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona, while the Frenchman has reportedly been offered a lucrative contract at United.
However, Wayne said his client has no intention of leaving the Old Blues.
“It’s true that the club wants to sell me and that’s not happening,” Wayne told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I am happy and I think I have earned the right to stay.
There’s a lot of rumours going around, and some people have even suggested I will leave, but I’m here and I’m happy.”
The Italy international was in attendance at the club’s pre-season friendly against Manchester City on Friday.
“I’m here for the game, not for the press,” he said.
“The players have been really great.
I want to play with them.
I feel at peace here.
I’m not here for any publicity.
I love the team, I love Manchester and the city, and the fans.
They are the reason I like to play here.”
Wayne was linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer, but a move has yet to materialise.
